RSU 16 PUBLIC SCHOOL ADDITION AND RENOVATION PROJECT
POLAND, MAINE
This project consisted of the renovation and addition to the existing Bruce Whittier Middle School in Poland, Maine. The project called for 13,000 SF of new wood framed classroom addition to include (4) state of the art science laboratories and nearly 8,000 SF of renovated classroom and administrative space with new heating/cooling, fire alarm, fire protection, plumbing, and electrical systems. The project also had a new concrete, aluminum, and steel consolidated entrance and vestibule with safety and security improvements to include bullet resistant glazing, transaction windows, and electrified door hardware. It also included site improvements such as the installation of new lighting, sidewalks, drainage structures, sanitary pump station, and sewer.
